Cylinder Lubricator No-Flow
Switch
The cylinder lubricator no-flow
switch monitors the cycling of the cylinder lube oil distribution block.
A magnet in the lubricator no-flow switch monitors the position of a piston
in the cylinder lubricant distribution block. If the piston fails to cycle
in a predetermined amount of time, indicating a loss of lubrication, the
lubricator no-flow switch will send a signal to the control logic of the
package to shut down.
There are several lubricator no-flow
switch models available. The
standard model is a Proflo, magnetic programmable fluid flow monitor.
The Proflo
is provided with CSA-C and -US certification for Class 1 Division 2 Groups
A,B,C,D T4A (max 85 C ambient) temperature class and is non-incendive.
The Proflo
includes alarm and shutdown capabilities for low or no flow as well as
cycle monitoring and on board data storage capabilities. The
Proflo is powered by replaceable "AA" alkaline batteries and
the data stored can be downloaded via infrared port to a hand held PDA
operating system.
If the CSA certification is not
acceptable for the installation site the DNFT-LED-PS or DNFT-PRG-PS are
available as options. These
are approved for CSA (US and Canada) Class 1 Division 1 Groups A,B,C,D;
CE; KEMA; ATEX for Class 1 Zone 1 Ex md IIC. The
DNFT-LED-PS is non-programmable. An
LED indicates a complete cylce of the lubrication system, and a shut-down
will occur if the distribution block fails to cycle within three minutes.
The DNFT-PRG-PS
is programmable offering programmable shutdown set point and recorded
data on the oil usage.
Additionally, a Kenco proximity
switch is available. This
is a switch contact only, suitable for CSA, Class 1 Groups A,B,C,D. A
separate local visual cycle indicator will be provided by Ariel with this
option. Control
logic will need to be provided in the local panel for the low flow compressor
shutdown. This
proximitor only provides an open / closed signal for each cycle of the
distribution block.

Lube Oil Supply for the location of a lubricator no-flow switch in
the cylinder lubrication system. See
