Ariel KBB & KBV Gas Compressor
 The KBB (900 RPM) and KBV (750 RPM) are Ariel's largest compressor frames. Both frames are rated up to 10,000 horsepower with 190,000 lbf combined tension and compression rod loads. They are especially well-suited for use in pipeline, storage, and high-pressure injection applications. A complete line of gathering and pipeline cylinders ensure maximum usage of the horsepower and rod load rating of these frames. The KBB and KBV frames are available in four- and six-throw configurations.
As with all Ariel compressors, regular, minimal maintenance insures a lifetime of continuous, trouble-free operation.

| A frame-driven lube oil pump provides pressurized, cooled oil through a full flow oil filter to all moving parts in the frame. A divider block distribution system supplies metered oil to cylinder bores and rod packing. Stainless steel tubing is used throughout the cylinder lubrication system. |

| Ariel uses plate-type valves designed for modern speeds utilizing non-metallic sealing elements as standard. Selected to adhere to established, low valve velocity standards. |
| Wear resistant ductile or gray iron. Available with wear bands. |
| Short, stiff, precision ground alloy steel piston rods with locking crosshead nut. Rolled threads are 1/4" under rod diameter for easy installation through packing. |

Cylinders
Ariel's successful design philosophy built upon for 40 years incorporates research indicating that modern, high speed cylinders do not require the water cooling necessary to previous generations of cylinders. The absence of water jackets results in larger gas passages, reducing pressure-drop losses and yielding the high efficiency Ariel cylinder. The innovative design of Ariel cylinders eliminates the major maintenance problems associated with water cooling, such as scaling and corrosion, and avoids pre-heating of inlet gas.
Most Ariel cylinders are ion-nitrided, increasing surface hardness and reducing cylinder bore wear to an absolute minimum. Ariel cylinders, combined with the innovative design of every Ariel frame, have earned Ariel the reputation for the lowest operating and maintenance costs of any gas compressor available today.
