Karen Buchwald Wright Awarded 2024 Oilfield Patriot Award

Karen Buchwald Wright, the Chairman of Ariel Corporation, was recently honored with the 2024 Oilfield Patriot Award by the Ohio Oil and Gas Association (OOGA).

The award was presented during the OOGA Annual Meeting held at the Hilton Easton Town Center in Columbus, Ohio from March 6th to March 8th, 2024.

The Oilfield Patriot Award was instituted by OOGA in 2006 to recognize an individual from the Ohio oil and gas industry who has made significant contributions towards the OOGA mission. The ideal candidate is a leader who is devoted to achieving goals that have a positive impact on a larger group and is committed to doing the greatest good for the most significant number of people. They are also expected to be trailblazers who can inspire others to share their vision.

OOGA President Rob Brundrett acknowledged Karen's contribution to the industry. "She's been associated with the company since it started. During her tenure, the company continued to grow and became an even bigger market force internationally." Brundrett added,

"She has never shied away from being an industry leader and an industry advocate for the natural gas industry, regardless of the noise that's going on around her. Ariel is one of the most respected names in the natural gas industry, and that's a real testament to Karen and her family, who've been running that company for three generations."

Ariel Corporation is a globally recognized organization with over 1,500 employees around the world. During Karen's leadership, Ariel produced almost 45,000 compressors (almost 70,000 today) and shipped them to more than 100 countries, providing clean, cost-efficient energy worldwide.

Karen succeeded her father, Jim Buchwald, as CEO, President, and Chairman of Ariel Corporation. Under her leadership, Ariel grew and modernized for 20 years. Despite the energy industry's swings, Ariel remained a reliable provider of natural gas compressors.

Alex Wright was appointed as the new CEO of Ariel Corporation in July 2021, succeeding his mother, Karen Buchwald Wright. At the OOGA event, Alex accepted the award on behalf of Karen.
