Ariel KBK-T

Ariel KBK-T Compressor

Ariel is pleased to announce the production release of the all-new KBK:T

The KBK:T product is a welcomed addition to the existing family of Ariel compressors. The new frame is design rated to provide an improved own and operate experience focused on flexibility, reliability, and driver pairings. The KBK:T benefits from years of research and development of both component material and design approaches. Combining research and development with lab and field operating experience, the KBK:T offers new levels of design ratings for this class of equipment while maintaining world-class reliability.

The KBK:T frames have a 6.0 inch and 5.0 inch stroke, respectively, with design gas rod load ratings that place it between our existing JGK:T and JGC:D products. The combinations of stroke and rated gas rod load values enhance the allowable compressor-operating map while optimizing the utilization of available driver horsepower. The KBK:T utilizes a new cylinder class lineup equipped with internal components design rated to provide the same or improved reliability when operating at the design ratings.

KBK:T frames incorporate new features and many of the proven features existing on other Ariel frame classes. They include:

  • “KB” style angled guide design with through-bolt guide support fasteners providing increased stiffness.
  • Frames accommodate optional internal torsional vibration damper or auxiliary end flywheel.
  • Piston, piston rods, crossheads, and connecting rods have been redesigned for increased strength.
  • Auxiliary end piping has been simplified by integrating the frame oil thermostat into the oil filter header.
  • New cylinder line uses KTCD cylinder bodies with non-collared 2” diameter piston rods.
  • ELP and dual chain drives are standard
  • Cylinders utilize BTUU style packing rings (uncut ring technology) and CP valves.
  • KBK:T crossheads, connecting rods, and bearings are backward compatible with the JGK:T
  • KBK:T model offers substantial increases in power density while closely matching the JGK:T footprint
