The KBU and KBZ have proven to be the most cost-effective compression method for applications requiring large-horsepower drivers and high-compression capacity. These large, medium-speed reciprocating separable compressors are capable of handling high rod loads of 150,000 lbs.
The versatile KBU and KBZ are particularly useful for gas processing in midstream applications. Ariel's reciprocating compressors provide extremely efficient capacity control as suction volumes and pressures fluctuate as new wells come online.

Ariel KBU/KBZ compressors feature high-efficiency canister filters rated at 1-micron nominal and 12-micron absolute.
Ariel offers manual, head-end variable volume clearance pockets (VVCP) on most cylinders. Pneumatic suction valve unloaders are available on a limited basis.
Durable grade 8 bolting on all loaded joints, combined with specially designed fatigue-fighting bolts on all valve caps, ensure ultimate fastening strength throughout.
Ariel produces versatile cylinders that can be utilized over wide pressure ranges without compromise by using valves that effectively balance reliability and performance. For each compressor frame size, Ariel's lineup of cylinders can fully utilize that frame's horsepower and rod load capabilities. Cylinders can be combined in hundreds of different configurations to deliver the precise volume and pressure of gas required.
Ariel 7 Performance Software is used by Ariel engineers and industry experts to model and design compressor configurations for their specific application. All of our cylinder designs, past and present, can be accessed to duplicate your existing compressor operations or design a new build.
